Elite Exteriors had the honor of sponsoring the 10th Annual Fore Her Charity Golf Tournament at The Links Golf Course at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Fore Her is a non-profit organization that works to financially support patients currently battling breast cancer and their families, and the purpose of this golf outing was to raise funds for breast cancer patients in financial need in Northwest Florida while they’re undergoing treatment.
Carlton Kohler, the Owner of Elite Exteriors, shares his excitement about being a part of this amazing event, “We’re fortunate enough to sponsor the 19th hole for the 10th Annual Fore Her Breast Cancer Awareness Golf Tournament here in Sandestin. It’s huge because we love to be able to support the community, especially breast cancer survivors, and we’re happy to be able to help survivors and help bring awareness to breast cancer.”
Elite Exteriors truly values the Emerald Coast and its residents, and is humbled to have been able to work with such a wonderful organization that is doing so much good for the community. In fact, from this event alone, Fore Her was able to raise $30,000, which is enough to help 15 women in need, and is the most this event has EVER raised!
We also had the pleasure of speaking with Amy Walsh, the President and Founder of Fore Her, who explains just how important this event, and this organization, is to her. Walsh started Fore Her in honor of her mother and her aunt who both passed away from breast cancer. She explains that because of fundraisers like these, her family was able to receive financial aid throughout the years while her mom was battling breast cancer, and she wanted to pay it forward.
With that in mind, Amy Walsh decided to start Fore Her to help women along the Emerald Coast as a way to honor her mom. She says, “I think that any type of cancer affects every one of us. We all know somebody that has been through some type of cancer, and friends and family members don’t know how to help the person that is battling breast cancer, or whatever type of cancer it is. Fundraisers like these allow the community and friends to show support to somebody they may not know, or even their friend. We have a few people who golf that we’ve supported their friends financially, so it will inspire our community, and the golfers, and it will inspire the breast cancer patients to know that there is help out there, we are here to help.”
Not only do they provide funds for those in need, they also have monthly in-person support groups, as well as virtual meetings held via Zoom.
